What’s Great About this Oster Air Fryer Multicooker

Design

Right off the bat, you’ll notice the unique shape and design of this Oster Multi-Cooker. Unlike most air fryers, its sports a boxy, almost-square shape. Even though I have nothing against the space-capsule shape of traditional air fryers, I find this fryer’s boxy design allows it to fit nicely in tight corners.

Furthermore, Oster has kept it really simple with the display, making this appliance suitable for beginners. The few controls on the touchscreen display are self-explanatory. There’s one for regulating temperature, a timer, presets, and manual modes control.

Another thing I like about this air fryer’s design is the glass door. It makes it easy to monitor the cooking process, without having to open the door. Plus, it can be removed for easy cleaning.

That said, it’s important to note that this air fryer is big. It weighs about 22 pounds, and measures 16.89 by 16.89 by 16.93 inches. Thus, it occupies quite a bit of space. On the plus side, it offers you a large capacity to work with.

Please note that Oster advises to make sure there is a 6-inch clearance area on all sides of the unit for ventilation.

Versatility

The Oster range of appliances are known for their versatility and this one takes the place of your oven, toaster, grill, and dehydrator with its 12 different functions.

Better yet, you can enjoy a whole roasted chicken thanks to the rotisserie oven that it comes with. There’s even a rotisserie handling fork, enabling you to insert and remove food from the appliance safely.

Parties are a Go!

Sunday brunch coming up? Family dinner on the calendar? For big families and avid entertainers, the Oster Air Fryer is the perfect investment. It boasts a capacity of 10.5 quarts, enabling you to prepare large batches of food in one go.

Moreover, Oster has included three air-flow racks. It means that you can prepare different dishes simultaneously. Air-fry chicken on one rack and veggies on another for a well-balanced diet.

Presets to Save You Time

Cooking is an art, which calls for precision and control. However, keeping track of the duration and steps required to prepare every single dish can be overwhelming.

So to help you out, this air fryer includes presets for the most commonly-cooked foods, namely, chicken wings, fries, vegetables and even steak. It means you don’t have to spend unnecessary time monitoring your meal while it cooks.

However, this doesn’t mean that you always have to use the pre-programmed settings. If you like to experiment, there are manual modes to pick from. Take note that the air fry, bake and dehydrate manual modes require you to set the duration and temperature.

Impressive Heat

The fryer’s cooking mechanism is another one of its impressive features. It involves 360-degree circulation of hot air, which creates a crispy brown finish on the outside but allows retention of moisture on the inside. This is how food ends up being crunchy outside but tender and succulent inside.

Easy to clean

Oster Air Fryer & Multicooker is one of the easiest to clean for several reasons:

  1. The majority of its components are dishwasher-safe.
  2. The drip-tray slides out for easy removal.
  3. The interior is made of galvanized steel, a material that’s not difficult to clean.
  4. The glass door can be removed for a quick cleanup.

Flaws but not Dealbreakers

The Oster Air Fryer Oven is, for the most part, an excellent air fryer. The only aspect you might not like is the repetitive action of having to re-press ‘play’ after it preheats. With other air fryers, the cooking process automatically starts as soon as the appliance is done pre-heating.

It would also be nice if the air fryer came with a couple of recipes that novice users can try out.

Now to quickly summarize what’s to like and what’s not to like…

Pros

  • Large 10.5qt capacity with 3 airflow racks
  • Easy presets for popular meals
  • Rotisserie function
  • Box shape fits nicely in corners
  • Detachable glass door for easy cleaning
  • Galvanized steel interior

Cons

  • Takes up quite a bit of counter space compared to basket-design air fryers
  • Need to press ‘play’ after pre-heating in order for cooking to begin
